The Year of Free Movies

In 2014, the University Mall Theatres, a second-run cinema in my town, created a Kickstarter campaign to fund the purchase of new theater seating.

Donors who gave $250 would get their names engraved on a seat, as lasting testament to their generosity. What’s more, they would also receive a pass which guaranteed them free movie admissions…for all of 2015.

The double whammy of free movies and carving my name in a public place was too much to resist.

Here I’ll be keeping a list of every film I see at the theater during my “Year of Free Movies.” As long as I see 63 films over the course of the year, I’ll get my money’s worth.

Wish me luck.
