Streetlight Manifesto is quite possibly my favorite band of all time. And they’re probably be my favorite musical artist — band or solo — of the past twenty five years. They’re responsible for my favorite concert ever and three of my favorite albums ever. I love love love them.
And so I decided to use this as an opportunity to write a proper retrospective on the band, as I did in my Oasis and Kanye entries. I decided to include the entire career of Tomas Kalnoky, the writer and lead singer of Streetlight, in the retrospective.
If you aren’t familiar with Streetlight Manifesto, the best entry point is probably their latest — and possibly best — album, The Hands That Thieve. It will give you a taste of what this band is all about. You can listen to it for free on YouTube here. (I especially recommend tracks 3-7.)
